  • The Tulare Economic Development Corporation
    is a non-profit corporation established to promote and develop
    Tulare and the surrounding area.




    Scott Domke, spokesperson for the organization, says "We are continually seeking ways in which we can improve our community and support the businesses here. Tulare has a lot to offer and with the many programs available, there isn't anything the people of this community can't accomplish."

    The Tulare Economic Development Corp Spec Building was completed in the spring of 2000 with a $44,400 Rural Development Grant and a BASEC Loan of $15,600. It is currently being rented by NESDCAP.

    An open house was held on Friday, September 22.

    Salem Church - listed on National Register of Historical Places

    The Economic Development Corp purchased the Tulare Salem Church to help preserve its historical status. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and you can find it located one block south and one block west of the post office. For more information contact Bill Otto.     Miss SD 1998, Sara Frankenstein


    The organization sponsored the sign on the west side of US Hwy 281 as it passes through Tulare, honoring Tulare HS graduate, Sara Frankenstein, 1998 Miss South Dakota.

    With the acquisition of the Governor's Daycare Building, Dawn's Daycare received a new home. Scott Domke and committee members, Dawn Woodward, Robin Jens and Barb Bottum worked hard on this project along with many others from the community.
